Memorial
Rod Heinrichs a huge part of the Mountain State Log Homes team/ family, was lost Saturday September 8th 2007 to a fatal horse accident that occurred on Labor Day.
Rod has been with Mountain State since the beginning and a huge part of making countless people's dream of building a log home come true. We will all miss him at the log home shows in his cowboy hat and his big smile. Those who knew Rod knew he was a kind , giving man with a huge heart.
In the words of his dear sweet wife:
In thinking about Rod and his zest for life, I thought of all the wonderful things that he experienced this past year.
In spite of how bad he felt many times, with one health problem after another, he refused to just sit and let the problem control what he did...or did not do. He pushed himself to his limit.
He loved his work,. He loved the people he worked with and always tried to give them his very best.
Most week-ends were spent with Brother Bob, his very best friend, riding Jericho, a horse he truly, truly enjoyed.
This was the year he got the truck he always wanted complete with all his country western tapes and a fuzz buster.
He received a Ruger 22 Magnum long barrel gun for Christmas (from his "other family') that he never dreamed he, "a wannabe cowboy" would ever, ever own .It was his pride and joy !
In his wildest dreams he never thought he would crew on a state of the art sail boat for 2 weeks of island hopping in the Caribbean with wonderfully compatible shipmates.
His desire to someday fly in a WW2 airplane was fulfilled when Russ and Lorrie gifted him with a ride in a B-17 Bomber.
He got the deep sea fishing trip and a week-end with his two boys that he had so wanted and had looked forward to so eagerly.
And he was looking at his next adventure this month, a two day rafting trip down the Colorado with Jane........
And that is how the Lord took him,,,,,looking ahead to another exciting adventure.
